What are some good cheap hotels in downtown Philadelphia? ?

I want to go to Philadelphia sometime between November and February. I was wondering what are some good cheap hotels to stay at downtown and when the best time to go is. Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by cheap. Hotwire can usually get you something in the $100-$150 per night range, depending on class. Straight bookings will run in the $150 to $250 range. Check out www.gophila.com for packages.

I'd avoid February, usually the worst weather of the bunch. December can be nice, with the holiday displays at the stores, etc.

Try the Alexander Inn on 12th & Spruce. Nice Boutique hotel within walking distance to all of Center City.
