Stayed recently at the Best Western Park Place Inn & Mini Suites -- not the 'cheapest', but the closest (5 minutes from room to Main Street)!

Motel 6 at Main Gate, is not only a Disneyland good Neighbor hotel but it is within walking distance and is a great price it is $44.00 if you book it on Motel6.com and is $49.00 if you book over the phone. I would check that one out there is also Red Roof which is $55.00 in case Motel 6 is not available and it is within 10-15 minutes and does have transportation but we found it faster to walk instead of stooping at all the other hotels to pick people up. Man, you don't want those cheap hotels around Disneyland. Unless, of course, you want to share your bed with bedbugs. Those places are just NASTY.
I always recommend the HoJo and Candy Cane Inn. You'll be glad you went.
If you still want the cheapest, try the Alpine Inn, Quality Inn, Super 8, Best Value Inn or America's Best Value Inn.
Disneyland itself has a hotel, no? Maybe that's only Disney World, I don't know. Check their website, though, as they have good deals if so. Or, check here:

super 8 motel is probably the only CHEAP hotel near disneyland. haha believe me-me and my boyfriend wanted to go there but the hotels are OUTRAGEOUS! but i feel ya, they gotta do something bout that.
